Creator Christina’s mantra of 2026 is “more whimsy. Illustrator Maria is “whimsy” embodied.
In a few months of hangs, Maria made a fort in the woods for our friends, and we all danced in a park with thousands of Atlantaians, we celebrated Halloween in home-made costumes (Maria’s was spectacular), and made effigies to set intentions and light on fire for the New Year, while Maria spontaneously designed (and needled) permanent tattoos on strangers at a kitchen table.
So when Christina got a clear message from the Universe that it was time to create and write her own Oracle Deck, the next thought was “and Maria could illustrate it”. This is the text exchange a minute later…
The unique name comes from a 3-year-olds' pure imagination. Christina's niece Ivy loves to play with Oracle Cards with her over FaceTime: Christina shuffles, Ivy tells her when to stop, and the top card gets pulled. One day, playing on her own, Ivy made up a card. Her parents heard her exclaim “Cardome of the Seabull!”. When Ivy “read” it, she described magic in a way that makes sense to her, “It’s like a fairy godmother!” A nurturing feminine energy there to transform gritty to glamorous! Christina asked her to draw the card, and her drawing became its own card— and the color palette and brush strokes of the illustrations.
Christina and her nephew Easton love to explore nature, the stars, and talk about the energy of the whole Universe. Whenever he had a boo-boo, Christina would rub her hands together and bring in loving energy, and “heal” him. It made an immediate difference. He wanted to learn how to do it, and now, when anyone in the family has a boo-boo, ailment, or hard day, Easton's rubs his hands together to create healing energy. Christina asked him to draw what “healing energy” looks like, and his drawing became that card.
The number 44 is Christina’s late grandpa Frank’s favorite number. On her road trip with her Grandma, they saw it every time they got in the car. In fact, the whole family reports seeing this number and knowing it’s him.
Throughout the illustrations, you’ll find whimsical hidden pieces that are meaningful to both Christina and Maria.
